The recent Horse and Hound article on social media regarding the very prolonged lungeing of a pony at a show, witnessed by a judge, has quite rightly prompted a huge outcry.

The National Pony Society condemns such abuse and takes the welfare of horses and ponies very seriously. NPS Special Stewards will be in attendance at nominated shows monitoring any welfare issues. They will take immediate, appropriate action should one of their members be involved or any person competing in NPS affiliated classes
